NEW YORK GIANTS MEDIA DAY - DEFENSIVE TACKLE LINVAL JOSEPH
Super Bowl XLVI – Tuesday, January 31, 2012
(on how preparation has been for his first Super Bowl) “So far so well. It’s all kind of settling down, but I love it. I love this atmosphere right now. This is the most exciting thing that I have ever been a part of. Being on this field right now and doing this is such a big thing.”
(on playing alongside All-Pro defensive linemen) “It’s great. We have Jason (Pierre-Paul), we have (Justin) Tuck, we have Osi (Umenyiora) and we have Chris Canty. It’s great. They are great guys. It’s like family, and I learn a lot from them, and I’m just glad to be a part of this team with them.”
(on if he frees up the big name defensive ends to make plays by working hard in the middle) “We give each other credit and props on what we have done and how they are doing it.”
(on how his Super Bowl experience has been so far) Well, this is year two for me, and to be here in my second year is very good. Guys have been in the league 15 years and never won a playoff game, so it’s an honor to be here, and I’m just glad to be here and ready for this game on Sunday.”
(on quarterback Eli Manning as a team leader) Eli is a great leader. This year is a big change. He has really stepped up, and he is showing it on the football field. He is really doing his job.”
(on what the emphasis will be this week on the defensive line) We have to stop the run and put pressure on Tom Brady and play real good team defense and team offense and team special teams.”
