(on the high expectations on the Giants defense) “Obviously we’re expecting to perform at a high level. Our teammates expect excellence from us and that’s just what it is. As far as from our group, the front four, the guys that we have in there, it’s really eight guys that we have in there. It’s eight guys that have an opportunity. They have very different skill sets, very different talents. They are all complimentary to one another. When we go out there we have to understand our given responsibilities and try to execute at the highest level.”

(on how it’s been having Justin Tuck step up in his captain role) “He was a captain before I got here. You have to lead by example and obviously this has been a frustrating year for him with the injuries but as he’s gotten healthier you can see the intensity pick-up. You can see him coming to the full front with his leadership qualities, especially with some of the young guys pulling them along. Guys that follow suit have followed his example. They see his work ethic from the practice field and in the film room. Guys follow suit and that kind of effort becomes infectious in our locker room. That kind of focus becomes infectious and guys put more intensity into their preparation for games.

(on what the keys to the game are for the Patriots to win) “I’m not going to say that. I’m going to go out and say this. This football game is going to come down to who’s able to execute at the highest level, who’s able to create turnovers, and who’s able to play most physical. That’s what it’s going to come down to. That’s what it’s going to be about on Sunday. There are two good football teams. It’s going to be a 60 minute ball game. It might take a little longer that 60 minutes. That’s what the football game is going to come down to.”

(on if he was surprised that the Giants signed him with their history of drafting pass rushers) “They’re known for drafting pass rushers and here they are signing a run stopper. It’s like what am I doing here? It’s a tremendous opportunity and come and be part of a great organization, a great defensive line, and a great football team. When I had the opportunity to come from Dallas I had to take advantage of it.”

(on how many teams he heard from before signing with the Giants) “I heard from three or four teams before the Giants. Obviously New York was the best opportunity and I’m glad I’m here.”

(on if he feels like the forgotten guy on the defensive line) “I like it like that. I’d rather fly under the radar. It’s like a warm blanket. It’s been good. Obviously those guys get a lot of attention. That frees me up to have an opportunity to make football plays. By all means pay attention to the defensive ends and those guys. Just forget about the tackles.”
