NEW YORK GIANTS - RB BRANDON JACOBS - Ingles

(on winning the game) “I am in awe right now. We are a great football team and we were a great football team since day one. We persevered through all the stress and adversities that we had and we finished strong.”

(on how he is feeling) “I have two Super Bowl rings; got a great family, great football team, part of a great organization. What more could I ask for?”

(on being 7-7 regular season) “After going 7-7 we knew we still had an opportunity to win our division and make the playoffs and we stayed in it and kept fighting.”

(on the team) “This is the best team I have ever played on. I played on a good football team in ’08 but we didn’t deal with adversity as much as we did this year.”

(on coach Tom Coughlin) “Tom Coughlin is one hell of a football coach. I would rather go to war with Coach Coughlin than anybody in the National Football League. He has done great for us. He is a coach for this organization and he is a coach for his players.”

(on Eli Manning) “I don’t need to say anything about Eli. I shouldn’t say anything about Eli. Two-hundred and twenty-eight countries just saw Eli. I don’t have to say anything.”

(on the team’s confidence) “We’re a great football team. We deserve this. Always be confident. We persevered through all of the adversity and kept working. We ended up here and we finished. We went through the tough times; no question about it. We knew all week that they weren’t going to be able to stop us. It was just a matter of whether or not we gave them dumb plays, penalties and stuff like that. We had a few moments that detoured us a little bit. We kept believing and this is the reward. This football team is an example of what a man’s character should be like.”

(on how this Super Bowl victory compared to the last) “We believed the whole time since Week 1. When we got hot, we believed even more. The first time we won the Super Bowl, we were just playing off of instincts. After what we’ve been through, it just gave us a better chance. We kept working, we lost four in a row and we still had a chance to win our division and go to the playoffs. This is the best team I have ever played on. We were a good football team in 2008, but we didn’t have the same adversity we did this year.”

(on the team’s running game opening up the passing game) “No question Ahmad ran the ball hard. I did the best I could do when I got my opportunity, too. We just kept fighting and fighting until the end and we got another Super Bowl ring.”

(on the go-ahead drive) “We knew we could move the ball with ease on this football team. We shot ourselves in the foot with a couple holding calls. The last drive, we knew we had to score. (Ahmad) did the best he could and tried to be a team player and go down to run some time off the clock. But we’re not that kind of (running) backs, we score touchdowns. That’s what we do and that’s what we did.”
